Kananaskis Country
$90 to enjoy
$0 to Destroy
This winter over 1100 Hectares of Kananaskis country is going to be clear cut. You can help to stop it.
Albertans pay $90 a year to hike, bike, fish, ski, and ride in Kananaskis, and now… it’s going to be clear cut.
The Reality
The Government of Alberta introduced the Kananaskis Conservation Pass in 2021, and now charge Albertans 90$/year to access Kananaskis Country for recreational purposes. The stated purpose of the Pass was to provide sustainable funding for the government to keep this special part of Alberta beautiful and protected for generations to come. Allowing this industrial activity will neither protect nor conserve the area.
This area is home to threatened species, such as: grizzly bears, Westslope cutthroat trout and bull trout. Clear cut logging will have serious negative impacts on their habitat.
